As a part of the digital transformation strategy for the retailer, Xebia deployed a hybrid infrastructure setup where AWS can cater to the rapid development of data-focused and business intelligence applications at a lower cost.

  • Re-architecting the entire AWS implementation for the development, testing, and production accounts, leading to a more secure and agile infrastructure coupled with a monthly cost savings of over $20,000.
  • Implementing AWS DMS to enable cross-replication of data between different cloud services on a hybrid infrastructure to, in turn, enable centralized data warehousing in AWS Redshift.
  • Creating data pipelines to publish incremental data from core e-commerce applications to Redshift, and enriching data using AWS EMR for creating business dashboards.
  • Introducing the concept of containers with Docker and application orchestration using Kubernetes to the client and starting a movement to adopt this technology for future projects
  • CI/CD architecture design and implementation of immutable infrastructure for over 40 projects using privately hosted GitHub, Jenkins, Terraform, Docker, AWS core, data services, a server-less framework, logging and monitoring activities using Sumologic, and creating SRE dashboards with New Relic APM for availability, latency, error rate, and throughput for the main e-commerce website.
  • Carrying out server-less implementation using AWS Fargate, Batch, Lambda, and step functions for data science projects to provide analytics to the business.
  • Migrating projects from on-premise DC/private Cloud (Rack-space) to AWS like RISE and AIS.
  • Undertaking network architecture design and implementation for hybrid infrastructure setup, having an on-premise DC, a private Cloud (Rack-space), and AWS using dedicated S2S VPN tunnels, Direct Connect and Transit Gateways
  • Cost optimizing initiatives across different AWS accounts using rightsizing, EC2 Reserved Instances (RI), and establishing housekeeping policies for storage and backups. Also, increasing elasticity for the existing resources and monitoring continuously to find the appropriate cost-control opportunities.
  • DR and environment planning and setup for AWS production projects in hot standby mode.
  • CIS benchmarking of all AWS accounts to adhere to the latest AWS security standards.
