Get More Value Out of Salesforce

The Dutch Foundation for Literature had used Salesforce for some time and was very satisfied with many of its features. They particularly valued the cloud software platform for its powerful CRM functionality. The nonprofit used it for translations and to support the work of Dutch authors. However, the organization wasn’t utilizing the platform to its full capacity or exploiting all of its benefits. To optimize Salesforce to its fullest value, Letterenfonds consulted Xebia.

Plan Workshops to Gain Support

Xebia assembled a project team with a lead consultant who had vast experience with project management within Salesforce. The team planned several workshops to get input and buy-in from the entire organization. All 40 employees of the Letterenfonds participated in these workshops. They were involved in the plan for the new Salesforce release from the get-go and were encouraged to share their ideas and concerns. This brought in many good suggestions but also ensured broad support for the transformation.

Optimize Processes to Improve User Experience

Based on stakeholder feedback, the team optimized a new version of Salesforce. First, it improved user adoption by adding more explanations to the application process, making it easier for authors to apply for support. Then the team decreased the amount of administration required by adding smart forms to the application process, so they went directly into Salesforce. It also implemented a paperless process, so the nonprofit’s advisory committee could view everything digitally. Finally, they optimized integrations with the Conga Composer app and a printer, making it easier to draft letters and contracts and possible to print labels at the push of a button. Once it went live, the new version of Salesforce quickly proved a huge hit with everyone at the Dutch Foundation for Literature.
